Okay, so I'm new to the site, and as per Matthew's request, I thought I would introduce myself.  The "J" is for John and I live in San Francisco.  I just found a cool place in the Mission with two awesome housemates, who also knit.  I've been living in Mexico for the last three years, so I'm excited to be back in The City.

I've been knitting for about 12 years, now.  I taught myself to knit when I was stationed aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN 68).  It was a unique environment in which to be a male knitter.  Needless to say, I frequently knit in public and I've missed BART and MUNI stops on more than one occasion because I was absorbed in knitting or had to finish a row!

I'm currently working on a waffle knit scarf and planning on making the flame sweater from the new Stitch 'n Bitch Nation book.  I also have a half-finished Dale of Norway ski sweater hidden in my closet that has been "in progress" for almost 10 years.  I'll finish it one of these days.

Hi J Paul!

Thanks for introducing yourself. That's cool that you've found people to live with who also knit. I'm slowly working on my roommates. One has already started and the other will be a tougher nut to crack. You should come by one of the events sometime!
