Lobsters in the Cathedral -11/1/2014 DONE

Morning Guys,

Well Lobsters in the Cathedral is done. It was fun designing and knitting my first sweater not from a pattern. I am really pleased with the fit and the way it turned out. Hope you all have a great weekend and find a little time to knit. Regards to all my knitting brothers on this beautiful autumn day., JRob.

Most impressive. It certainly does not look like a first attempt at designing and knitting. Well done.

Knitmaniac, I was not very clear now that I reread my post. This is not the first sweater that I've knitted. It is however the first sweater that i've knitted of my own design. The history of this sweater has been documented on this site. Thanks for commenting. JRob

Thanks Joe, For some reason my mind drifted to Wyoming today. Probably because it was a cool day and reminded me of your lovely state. My older son spent 4 months there during a summer break while in college working at the Tetons. I got to wear the sweater. Someone in my yoga class offered to buy it off my back for $300.00 - I almost sold it. JRob

Thanks for thinking of us. However, our weather has been warm enough that you wouldn't need the sweater during the day but - possibly - the evenings are a good time for it. Glad you decided not to sell the finished piece...you should enjoy the results of all that hard work and time well spent creating it.

Great sweater ! Love the colors!

Thanks David. The color is what originally drew me to the yarn. I thought cabling done with it would look really nice and I was not disappointed. JRob

Just when I think I have seen the most outstanding work on this site, a beautiful design like Lobsters in a Cathedral shows up. What a stellar example to commitment to the craft. I really like how the cabling comes together at the top to make part of the yolk. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the good wishes. The move is going well. Today I am going through the frustrations of having Internet/phone/TV bundle work correctly. So far, not so good. I'm sure they will get it figured out though. Thanks for asking.

Charles, Remember everything is basically a combination of knit and pearl and some yarn overs. Patience and counting go a long way. Glad to see you on the site. Have fun. It's a great group of guys. JRob
