Been Awhile

Wow it has been sometime since I have written something.

So here we go.

I am so happy with the response that has come from my forum topic about dish clothes. It has produced some interesting conversation and some links to great sites that have many patterns on them..

The only down fall to this is that my wife feels that now I am spending as much time with her as I should, but hey I can't help it I love to knit and it is hard to set the needles down once I start knitting.

Well I am off to go for a bike ride with my wife, we both finally each have a bike to ride.

Some Dulaan Projects

These are some of the stuff that I knitted for the Dulaan Project 2006 (pdf file). The blue hat on the top is a simple hat pattern from Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns, knitted with Rowan Big Wool. The pinkish red hat is "Bobbi" from Cathy Carron's Hip Knit Hats, knitted with yarn from Brown Sheep Yarn. At the bottom is Chevron Lace Scarf that was a work in progress at the time. I will post a picture of the finished project next time. All yarn for the Dulaan projects donated by my dear friend Gerald.

Pillows?

Hello,

Has anyone here ever knit covers for throw pillows?  I'm thinking the silk yarn created from the recycled saris would look really wonderful covering a pillow form (or three or four) and thrown nonchallantly onto my sofa.

I would imagine it would be easy enough to come up with a pattern, but it would be helpful to hear if any Menwhoknit have done it...

Thanks,

Jonathan

Aran Watch Cap & London Beanie

Here I go again. Two hats knitted in 2005. The one on the left is an Aran Watch Cap from Charlene Schurch's "Hats On!" knitted with Plymouth Encore Worsted. The one on the right is a London Beanie, free pattern found on the Internet, knitted with Manos del Uruguay.

zip up vest

Hi guys I want to make a zip up vest for myself. I have found a few patterns around but nothing that I really like.

Two of them have called for a gauge that is about 2 stitches to the inch. I don't really want something made with bulky yarn.

I was wondering if any of the guys on this site have made any vests with zippers and if so if they could share pictures or pattern sources.

Thanks

Purple teddy bear

I made one of these for my neice, and another one (in variegated lavender) for her brother.  It's gotten "very well loved" in that Velveteen Rabbit sort of way - kind of rougher around the edges now, although it's holding together!

I must be blind...

Don't laugh...but could someone please tell me how to update my profile...I am sure it's some link staring me right in the face, but I haven't had lunch yet and I'm losing my mind!
