Anne Hanson Trunk Show

Aaronknits's picture

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of meeting designer Anne Hanson who came to do a trunk show at Trumpet Hill, my favorite LYS. I was in the shop a week or so prior just to hang out for the day and they had just gotten the patterns in and were getting them tagged and put in binders. There were so many beautiful designs and the one that I ended up coming home with is the Elm Row scarf.

Anyway, Anne has a GREAT summary of the day at including LOTS of pictures! There's one of me about halfway down the page. She was really very nice and spent time talking with everyone about her designs, what people are working on, etc., and there were a LOT of people in the shop that day.

Here's a picture of the Elm Row scarf that I'm working on. it doesn't look like much when it's still on the needles and unblocked, but I figured I'd show it anyway.

(okay, I took the hint and added the "e" to Anne in my post. so sorry about that!)

Cool beans! I loved seeing some familiar faces on her blog--especially yours! That must have been a blast, all that lace!

Thanks for sharing this,

Thanks for sharing this, Aaron. I can't recall Anne Hanson's designs - but that doesn't mean anything because my memory is fairly poor. Some very nice photos on the link and your picture was most dashing. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

I <3 Anne Hanson!! I've made so many of her patterns, it's a wonder she hasn't requested a restraining order, because I'm bordering on stalker! Of the socks, I've made Smokin', Tessarae, Shifty, Caterpillar, and tonight I finished Hayrick. Of her lace, I've made Wing o' the moth, and I'm currently working on Maplewing. I should also finish her Whitfield Jacket in a couple of weeks (back and right front are finished, left front is 3/4 complete). Yeah . . . I adore her and her designs. She's also very kind to offer help to those with questions in the Knitspot group on Ravelry. I regret that I will not be able to attend The Loopy Ewe's Spring Fling right here in St. Louis, as both Anne Hanson and Jared Flood will be offering classes!

Love Anne Hanson! She has

Love Anne Hanson! She has some great designs. I made her Gridiron socks for a swap I was in. Hated having to send them off to someone else. They are in my queue for another pair for myself.
