Box Lace Scarf

scottly's picture

I was looking for a lace pattern that a guy could wear when I flipped through Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle and saw the Box Lace Shawl and thought that would be a perfect pattern for a guy, simple and elegant. I changed the guage to tighten it up but this is how it turned out. It's in Malabrigo Sock and sorry I lost the color name and number but it's a dark plum with lime green accents, it was knit with #3 needles. This is for a freind for Christmas to go with his loden green Burbury coat. I hope he likes it.

I forgot to mention that the scarf is reversible which is another reason I chose this pattern. Scarves with a wrong side kind of bother me.

That is beautiful and definitely suitable for any man. I am nearing the end of a lace scarf for my partner from Arctic Lace book. It is hard to find lace projects suitable for men. I will have to get the book you used, so I will have more choices. Very nice work.

I've picked up that book in the store several times and admired things in it but I haven't actually bought a copy yet. Maybe Santa will bring me one!

Extremely nice, Scott. Your friend is very lucky to get this. I'd be tempted to keep it for myself, had I been the knitter. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
