Ummm...whenever I get an email it's only because someone has written me a private message (of which I don't get many anyway) and it always comes to my email inbox as darrel@menwhoknit.com.

...and seeing as the emails are all the same text, using my real screen name "Dear rjcb3" (and etc.) I would be all over that. Since I have everything in my inbox filtered, everything that contains "menwhoknit.com" in the "From" header goes right into its proper little folder. I haven't got one of those anyway, thank the gods.

Sheesh! Do these idjuts realise you just can't do that nowadays? Sometimes I really long for the good ol' days when all you had to worry about was someone bringing in a 5.25" floppy infecting everyone's computer with "Stoned"

My first computer was TRS 80 Colour Computer that hooked up to the TV for a monitor and we had to make our own programs.

The ones at school were TRS 80 Model I -- that the OS ran on the floppy. Before we were even allowed to touch the computers at school, we had to pass a written exam, including proper care and usage of the floppy disc (to include opening and closing the little door that locked the disc in...yes, points were taken off if we didn't include "turn the switch" on the test -- like it was going to operate without it anyway?!?!?) We were all so proud when we were assigned our own personal disc.

Ah, those were the days.

OT: Ahh, had to reply... good ole STONED. I've got a copy of that somewhere around here. As a computer IT I've kept a few of the old vira as pets. STONED was one of my favorites; the original version never harmed your machine and was easy to remove. (sigh) I learned a lot about the boot sector that year. Those were the days. Heh heh... your computer is STONED!
