One Sleeve Down.

profaknitty's picture

I’m using a larger size needle and wool (Cascade Ecological Wool) than the pattern and following the stitches for a smaller size.

I’m using my husband’s favorite fitting sweatshirt as a guide as well to get the right sleeve/body length.

Let’s see what happens.

I’m also changing the color every two repeats of the cable pattern:

Cuff and 1 repeat off-white 31 rows + cast on
Two repeats Grey 32 rows
Two repeats Tan 32 rows
The rest in brown

One must concentrate when working this, trying to keep the cable pattern during increase and decrease.

I’ve made at least three mistakes in the first sleeve, fudged a little on a spot of instructions I didn’t understand, and only frogged maybe four rows where the mistake was too big to go unnoticed.

I love it!

This morning I am going to pull out part of my aran ... I fucked up a little bit of it and too tricky fixing up the cables so have about 6 hours work to pull out... I might even go so far as pull out to the rib to get the initial row right ... it was a little clumsy... last night I went to knit, decided ripping in order but couldn't face it.

Looking at your lovely work just reinforces my need to rip and start again ... without crying over it...

lovely work...thx for the inspiration to do the rip....
