Rambling Rows Baby Blanket (revised)

RickMartin's picture

I'm told pictures can now be added - so I'm trying to add them now!

Let me tell you this is gonna' have to be one deaf baby to get this one - otherwise it's so loud that poor baby will never sleep! (The brighter of the two pics is most like the actual blanket.)

I started this blanket over a year ago - set it aside and forgot about it. My wife went out of town for a few days last week so I decided to pick it up and finish it while she was gone - so it went from 20% to 100% completed. Woo-hoo!

I used about 5 skeins Encore yarn, US #9 needles, and the Rambling Rows pattern - except I did 2 rows stockinette, 2 rows garter in alternating colors instead of all garter stitch as the pattern calls for.

And yes, Mmario - it's that Colorado Scarf Spruce again doing the modeling!

Let's see if the pic posts this time. - For some reason the pic won't post but here's the links:

Beautiful! I'm still trying to figure out what I will knit up for my grandson. I do plan to hold off a bit because of this move to germany, but once I am there it's free time all the time! I plan to get TONS of knitting done :p

Oh, that's hardly very bright at all. Remember that babies don't see very well at first, and bright colours help to hold their attention. But as they are going to be lying on this blanket, they really don't get to see it much anyway!

Great piece of work. I think you should do another one, but this time in shades of greens. And then blues -- maybe reds, and one in yellows.... and one with ALL the colours in it!!

I think it is very pretty, not the colors for me, but I am sure that some little girl somewhere would love it.
