more than half way finished.
I have to go home to see the folks next weekend. so its 8 hours on a train to knit with. im hoping i dont drop any stitches.
It looks great! I wish I could just take a train to Germany, would be so much easier than all these paranoid rules with flying.
The most stupid of which is the knitting needles rule. I learned on my trip to Romania that they have left this one very vague and really it's the person checking your luggage if they'll let you take it on or not.
But I can take my 3" scissors, and I can do a whole lot more damage with my 3" scissors than I can with my knitting needles.

You need to get yourself some of those new nerf needles.
I like the idea of knitting the edge while you complete the blanket. Working squares is also much easier than what I usually do and that's just make one big piece. But I hate joining squares...
Cool blanket. I love to knit while traveling but I always keep my trusty crochet hook in my breast pocket just in case we hit a bump or in the case of air travel, turbulence, and do drop a stitch. Eight hours knitting on a train sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day.
It's going to be a great blanket. Have a nice visit with your parents.
Coming along beautifully!
