So here I am vacationing in Taos and what do I do - block a shawl. I finished it on the drive up here and couldn't wait to get home to block it. It took almost six weeks to finish as that my knitting time was greatly diminished this past month. In spring the garden calls my attention as does my family. Anyway here is the Kimono shawl form Cheryl Oberle's "Folk Shawls". The yarn is Silky Wool by Elsebeth Lavold in the color Columbine - I think. This is fast becoming my favorite lace yarn. It blocks beautifully, is very reasonably priced and easy to work with.
This was a really fun shawl to do and the result has inspired me to start on another one asap. I think I'll be doing some yarn shoping in Taos. Speaking of, I stopped in a La Lana yesteday and picked up a lovely skein of handspun in a yellow orange color way. I wish I could have afforded more but as $26. as skein all I get to do is a hat. Better then nothing. If you're ever in Taos, La Lana is a must visit yarn store.
Enjoy the pics.
