An Idea about Jason needing input

Since we got the most recent news I have been thinking a lot about our friend and brother Jason and his decision not to have further treatment. I am wondering if there's some way we can make plans to each knit a square to make an afghan then mail our square to a specified group of people who will arrange and put them together? I realize there are logistics, who big the squares should be so that the afghan assembles easily, that the yarns be compatible so the finished product washes, etc. Anyone with planning/designing experience know a way we can do this? I would be up for making the assembling work. Thanks, Kevin
