I am very upset.

So, I finally got my scarf exchange scarf sent off. I went to my parent’s house on Tuesday and my father sent it off for me, I am young, I have never figured out the whole post office thing. I do everything by email, and I never have to send physical things. I went home, not because I needed to mail the scarf, but because I had to go get my choir jacket. This weekend is the biggest ballroom dance weekend of the year, possibly the decade. After a bunch of workshops with our favorite pros, Miles and Tessa, we have a ballroom dance and the biggest party of the year. In addition I have invitations to five other big parties this weekend, and a surety of a good time with at least one woman. Now the problem, I have to go on a choir retreat all weekend. I can not miss the retreat or they kick me out of the choir and I am not saying that it won't be fun, but I would have much more fun dancing and partying. Instead I get to go hang out with 28 other guys and sing continuously, and apparently we are going to play football, basketball and poker. I normally never play these things and it is going to be very cold. I will of course be bringing my knitting, specifically the second camo sock that I have been working on for over a year. I finally turned the heel and decreased for the foot, now I just have to knit 12 inches of foot. What am I going to do?

This reminds me of the scene

This reminds me of the scene in the movie Camp when they are on the bus and there is a sports counselor for the musical theatre camp. WHY???

Having worked summer camps

Having worked summer camps for kids - you really **NEED** to have some good physical activities for them. Or you will suffer for it. We didn't make it mandatory - but found that if we didn't give the majority of the kids a good hour or more of phyical stuff they went bonkers on us. So in addition to the drama, music, and art classes we offered, they had a chance to swim, boat, croquet, dodge ball, etc.

I never much liked those

I never much liked those team sports myself...rather boring to be honest. But I still play them with the guys every once in a while...I figure maybe I'll need to know how so as to have flirt material later?

See if you can let go of

See if you can let go of your negative feelings about those activities. Go and be a part of the team and have as much fun as you can. You never know, you might have fun. But only if you are determined not to be bummed out.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems but it will annoy enough people to make it worth your while

It's always a bugger when

It's always a bugger when different facets of your life conflict. But as someone once pointed out to me; much better to have multitudes of good things to choose from then to be sitting home alone.
