Well, I managed to squeeze in the very last FO of 2008!

I finished the Boyfriend Socks in record time of about a week! Yay! That's quite something for me...but it also means that I have to knit on only one project the whole time. :-p

I'm seeing Dr. D tonight, so he'll be receiving it....he doesn't know yet. ;-)

The only modification I made to the pattern was the cuff. Instead of 1x1 rib, I decided to cross the cable the last time and continue in 2x2 rib for another 8 rounds and I used the sewn bind-off (my favourite one now for toe-up socks). The reason for this modification is the fact that I didn't like the abrupt change from 2x2 rib in the pattern to 1x1 rib for the cuff.

Oh, and look at the last photo...I made the perfect short-row heel! Without holes at all. Granted though, short-row heel isn't my favourite. I prefer heel flaps, because for me, that is what makes a hand-knit socks look hand-knitted. ;-)

As for the yarn...yeah, I like the feel of the silk blend. But still, I would prefer the OnLine Silk, because it appears to be smoother and doesn't halo and fuzz like the Regia Silk.

BTW, those are my huge feet and skinny legs. Yeah, I modelled the socks.

Well, that's all for 2008. Wishing you all a great start into 2009!!!
