Given that I'm an artist, my family expects hand-made gifts from me. Not necessarily knitted or crocheted items, (I reserve that for myself!) but certainly something hand-made.

OK, maybe I'm a cranky

OK, maybe I'm a cranky estrogen filled old woman, but, I only knit gifts for those who I KNOW will appreciate them, I put alot of time and occasionally my own hair into what I knit. (the hair just finds it's way tthere) I once crocheted something for everyone and although it goes alot faster for me, when I found one person using the afghan i crocheted for them as a covering for thier pig, I stopped hand made gifts for all. This year the kids are all getting hat and scarf sets, my German boys are getting socks for the big guy (and a sweater if I can find a pattern to fit him) and the other is getting a sweater and hat. Other than that I knit for no one else.

I usally have big plans -

I usally have big plans - which means they may get them the NEXT year. I tend to do a lot of "post christmas" knitting instead of Christmas knitting.

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

The Holiday season is one of the greatest season's for me , but I start very early to have enough time for the gift making. I always make something for me a Hat right lol! and sometimes a scarf as well. Now there are plenty of things to make, afghans, socks. I try to make myself a new set every year and donate the old one.
