Well I sarted this scarf last year and finished in January. I felt quite accomplished tying off the scarf's end. I gave it to my, then, fairly new girlfriend. The scarf is 33 stitches wide on US10 needles (K3P1)K1 just keep going till you think it's long enough. That was my pattern.
The gloves are the Twin Rib Fingerless Mittens/Wrist Warmers pattern by Dawn Adcock.
Both are done with Malabrigo yarn. (Stone Blue 99, Charrua 259)
I must say the gloves were faster and more fun. Being my first knit in the round plus working with DPNs made it an initial challenge but turned out to be quite easy. My only problem was keeping track on rounds. There was a lot of knit counting going on. I really like the increase for the thumb gusset on the first glove. I could envision what steps would be needed to finish it off. Anyway, lots of fun.
More harassment from shocked people. This time at the university. I am working on finishing my teaching degree. I get a few looks from Boys and Girls not used to seeing knitting much less a man knitting.
