Back after USA trip

Just wanted to say a big hello after nearly 2 weeks of not reading your posts on MWK. I was having some withdrawal issues!
So the vacation was fantastic, as I knew it would be. Luckily for us we managed to just miss Ike in key west, but my heart goes out to all those who it affected - sending lots of love and warm wishes.
New York was just as amazing as always and managed to get to Knitty City as recommended by chado 1982 (thanks once again) and spent over $150 on some really beautiful yarn. I got 4 skeins of Classy Dream in Colour Worsted Weight yarn in an orange/brown/green colour way, 100%superfine merino, and some Rowan Cocoon 80%merino and 20 % kid mohair. I think I may use the Classy for a scarf so I can wear it and be reminded of the time I spent in the US, and I think I'm going to make a hat with the rowan. Ill post pix as soon as they're done.
Would also like to shout out a big THANKYOU to Pearl and Diane from Knotty City. They were great and made me and Steve feel very welcome. It was so nice to sit and chat to them and a few of their customers about all kinds of stuff. It’s so different here in the UK, whenever I go to my LYS instead of being greeted with a smile all I get is an "Oh my god, a man who wants wool!" confused look.

Off subject now, but we went to Lips restaurant in NY, Bank street, Greenwich Village. Has anyone else been? If not you must go. Had the BEST time there. If you are thinking of going you may want to check out their website first. - lipsnyc.com

I just started a scarf with the Rowan Cocoon. I love it - very soft and wonderful to knit with. I will definitely be buying some more of that one.
