Just sitting here looking on tinternet wondering if im the only one who loves to knit and hey presto I stumble on this fantastic website where I can meet and chat to other members of the male knitting club! fantastic!

Am just taking a little break between sipping wine and starting another sweater while harry potter is getting almost burned by a big horney dragon. (lucky Harry!)

As you may have gathered I am new to this website and really very glad I stumbled across it. I have looked at some of the pix of the things you guys have made and have to say that I am really impressed! I myself have just finished making my first sweater, a gift for my partner that he hasn't seen yet. Im sure that he'll love it. As I said im just starting another sweater and really loving knitting it. Its one of the ones where you sit and knit for an hour or so and before you know it you have knitted almost the first side. The wool I'm using is denim ultra by Sirdar and its fantastic! Knits up really quickley. Will post pictures soon if anyone is interested.

Im kind of new to the whole knitting stuff. My mum taught me to knit when I was a kid a long long time ago and never really managed to knit more than a hankerchief size scarf, but as I said I just finished making my first sweater (pix soon) and a, really excited about the whole thing. Im now on the second sweater and loving every minute of it. I find myself rushing home after work so I can get on and get some more of it done. Is it me or does anyone else find it really addictive??

Anyway, Im sure I've bored most of you out there rigid so will sign off for now.

Later!

Darren

Hey guys. Thanks for a really lovely welcomes! Smiling fom ear to ear! Really excited to be able to finally chat to other people about knitting, I try to talk to Steve about it but as a non knitter he cant seem to ge as excited about it as I do. I did teach him how to knit a few weeks ago but I think he lost patientce with it. although he is excited that I'm excited about it if that makes sence?

Also good to meet other HP fans and would love to see you HP work vince, you got any pix?

I did actually consider taking my knitting to work when on night shifts but couldnt stand the constant interruptions it would drive me crazy keep having to stop.

Anyway thanks once again to everyone for welcoming me to the community. There area  couple things I woud like to run past you guys but will save that for later.

Speak to you all soon   Laughing

Welcome Darren, Glad to see

Welcome Darren,

Glad to see another Harry Potter fan in our midst. I have knit all the school scarves as well as a Quidditch sweater, so I got to combine my addictions of knitting and HP. I attended the Witching Hour in Salem, MA last October, where I was known as The Knitting Guy because I knit during all of the panels and presentations.

I have worked with Shirdar Denim before and it is fabulous to work with. You will love the finshed product that it creates.

Glad to have you with us and look ofrward to seeing what you make.

Vince

Welcome to the site. As

Welcome to the site. As Jesse says why leave your knitting at home. I take mine to work & knit on the subway if I can get a seat.

Yes it's very addictive. Can't stop.

Knit away, knit away

Welcome to our knitting

Welcome to our knitting community!  You're in good company: lots of other men knitters as well as some HP fans.   Here's my advice, instead of rushing home for work to get to your knitting, just bring it along with you and do it whenever you have the some free time!  Addictive?  Well, I would be in a knitting AA group but I can't put my needles down long enough to attend!   Cheers, Jesse  PS: It's nice to see the date written "correctly"!

I've got knitting fever in the worsted way.
