Apparently, getting me to accomplish knitting projects is no different than most other things in my life... give me a deadline! No time for pics... just knitting!
I just finished two shawls... the "Bigfoot Shawl" from Allison Jepperson Hyde's book "Knitted Comfort" and the Forest Canopy Shawl. Then, with just 4 weeks until the "Big Day" I am encouraged by my aunt to knit my cousin a shawl which she may or may not wear during her wedding ceremony (now just 11 days away). So, I turned to MMario's Faux Spanish Lace Shawl using the ultra sleek Alpaca With A Twist's FINO (alpaca/silk lace weight). This shawl is light as a feather, literally, and I am looking forward to seeing it blocked out. I am using a varigated green with hues that match the body and lace overlay of her wedding dress. I hope she likes it! It has been a consuming project these past two and a half weeks! I still am knitting, though... I want it bigger!!
However, doing the same project... for hours and hours on end, day after day... I needed a diversion for a bit yesterday. So, I finally (Yeah!) casted on for socks!! It was on my "To Do" list for January! I am using "David's Toe Up Sock Cookbook" from www.DavidKnits.blogspot.com It's more of a recipe than a pattern which provides for lots of interpretation! I have knitted up to the start of the gusset and will get back to it when the shawl is on the blocking table.
