This was a quick knit from the Victorian Lace Today book. I used US size 7 needles, 100% cotton, 50 g, 5 sts/inch yarn - in turquoise - I TOLD YOU NO MORE BLACK AND I MEANT IT!
The fringe has glass beads as you can see in the attached picture.
A fichu is defined as a half-hexagon shaped shawl that is worn usually tied in the front. Since the point in the back of a triangular shawl is basically sawed off this means it can have longer sides to tie in front without being so long in the back. My wife (also pictured) who is 5'2" (if she stretches) loves this shape!
