Counterpane - to edge or not to edge...

Well, leaving for vacation this evening and the countpane is edgeless. I stitched on the triangles to fill in the gaps, but still feel like it needs a border. Have tried several, but now leaning toward a simple 8 stitch garter stitch. Link to a pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10383687@N08/2512710849/
I'll ponder it while on the beach. Turkey has an amazing coastline. I'll be going to Patara, on the Agean coast. Here's a basic web site I made for the owners of the pension where I'll be staying. It features pics I took on my trips there last summer...

Reading on the beach every day and knitting the evenings away. Heaven! Here's the wool I'll be using. I finally decided on this purple: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10383687@N08/2512710087/in/photostream/

I think I'd leave it the way

I think I'd leave it the way it is or make some other kind of border rather than a garter stitch border. Maybe some sort of triangular border but it's hard to tell without seeing a photo of the whole thing. I don't think a garter stitch border would do justice to the beautiful panes ... of course, that's just my opinion.

Thanks for your input. When

Thanks for your input. When I retujrn home next week, I'll try to post a pic of the entire throw. When you see the entire thing, I think you!ll agree that i does need some kind of a border...

I like it the way it is.

Thanks. So far the votes

Thanks. So far the votes are 1 for a garter stitch border, 1 maybe and 1 no. Now I'm rethinking my plan...
