Felted Belt

joshslade's picture

My felted belt has a long story which begins with my apparent weight gain. I had this old leather belt that couldn't stand life anymore, so it broke as I was walking down the hallway at work. Yes, leather broke because it wasn't strong enough. So after a few cupcakes for reassurance I decided to knit a belt and reuse the buckle. I found a pattern for a felted military belt, knit it up and felted. (It still needs a bit more felting but I ran out of laundry to do.) I attached it to the buckle and then did a weaving pattern with the yarn and needle. All told, a groovy belt that fits my girth. Plus it is cow friendly.

Hmmm...apparently I am not smart enough to get two photos in here, but if you look at my gallery there should be a close up of the buckle work.

KOOL! Very Kool!

It IS a groovy belt, no

It IS a groovy belt, no doubt about it, but, ummmm, it's the girth part that just isn't borne out in the photo. Sorry, Dude, your girth is less substantial than your old leather belt!! I do like the new one, though!
