Hap Some Madiera, M'Dear

MMario's picture

This is a project I knit back in June of '06. I finally got around to writing it up; with the changes to prevent the pouching of the center that I had in the original version.

4/15 - posted corrected version (I had left off some decreases in the chart)

I love it Mario. Is there any chance that you can post a detail of the center? I just want to see it more clearly.

nope - the shawl flew away in the post in July of '06. But if you google "madiera cascade" ot should give you an idea - the center is a square of what is essentially "faux spanish " lace diveded by horseshoe lace. sorta.

Besides - *that* center is horrible. luckily when it was worn the pouchy center became "shoulder shaping. But it wasn't intentional.

Also, the title of the post.....I heard Tony Randall sing "Have Some Madiera, M'Dear" ages ago either on Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Dick Cavett or some other afternoon talk show. Had to have been in the late 60-early 70s. Thanks for bringing it back to mind.
