Hoodie by Sandi Prosser

Asbjörn's picture

I was looking for hoodie patterns and I hated most of what I found. Then I came across Sandi Prosser's Hoodie on Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hoodie-5 only to find that the pattern was printed in the Fall 2005 issue of the now defunct Family Circle Easy Knitting magazine. I have no idea how I can come across this pattern so I was wondering if anyone here perhaps had this particular issue of the magazine or if anyone knew a source for back issues of out of print magazines.

I'm interested in this pattern because it is suitable for a guy, isn't fussy or decorative, has a kangaroo pouch and is a pullover-type hoodie. Also, a lot of hoodie patterns I came across looked no better than wearing a drawstring garbage bag so I'm really keen on finding this particular pattern. Any help would be much appreciated.

I really like the ones in

I really like the ones in Son of S-N-B also. I've never done a Wallaby, I know 100's have but the other pattern that I have seen from this writer is a real pain to read/knit from. YMMV, any maybe the WW pattern is better than her others. As I recall they are *very* wordy.

I saw the front of your blog

I saw the front of your blog entry and immediately the SOSNB book popped into my head. My new favorite book, I've got two of the projects on needles now. KICK ASS BOOK, but I see someone else beat me to it... I'll just second Varant's motion....

There is a great hoodie in

There is a great hoodie in "Knitting with Balls" which is available through Amazon. The pattern calls for Alpaca in a great colour.

Hi Terry, Your local

Hi Terry,

Your local public library might be able to order this issue for you from another library that has it. I found a few libraries that carry the magazine and a few seem to have issues from 2005 in their collection. Ask them if they will do an Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The magazine info is below.
