Close to Perfection

Now, this is a relative term, of course, but thanks to TallGuy's advice, I grafted the seam of the tychus hat instead of just normally sewing it and OH MY GOD. The seam on the hat shown is a bit spotty as I was learning how to graft over the course of the seam, but as you can see, the seam is pretty much invisible if you don't knit the last two rows in MC and just stop at the last row of CC (White in this hat). Hat shown seam side up!

Thanks TallGuy!

This hat looks great! I got interested in joining the site after I saw your white, charcoal and black version here. that is a great looking hat. I have tried grafting a shoulder seam but did not have much luck. It looks to me like you have mastered it!

Skip, Looks great! Where do you find a good description of grafting? I hate sewing and avoid it at all costs! Great job. I'm going to have to try one of these hats. They look really cool.

Nice work and good for you.

Nice work and good for you. I was tempted to try grafting on the shoulder seams of my sweater but chickened out. Maybe on the next one- one thing at a time to preserve sanity.
