Looking for pattern...

A friend of mine described a sweater with a shawl-type/style neck

ummm???

'don't believe I've ever heard of such a thing...

I honestly don't know...

Does anyone an idea? Does anyone have a pattern? Does anyone know where I could find a pattern like this.

...or am I just going to have to cast on and knit and write?

Here's a link to a pattern for sale on a UK eBay-type site. It's a beautiful sweater and is knit in DK-weight wool. You can buy it through PayPal. Good luck with your search!

there are tons...it just means there is no notch in the lapel...many cardigans gave them...and solid front sweaters often have a small shawl collar that overlaps and ends about eight inches down from the neckline.
