stitch and bitch

guywhoknits's picture

Just wondering if anyone has made anything from the STitch and Bitch books...I know pretty much all the patterns are for the ladies, but i have changed colors on some of the patterns and they are pretty cool. I made the fingerless gloves for myself and my friend and they knitted up easy and are pretty cool. Also does anyone know of where i could find a stitch and bitch if anyone knows of a website or is part of one.

There is a Stitch 'n Bitch

There is a Stitch 'n Bitch book being released in October 2007 titled "Son of Stitch 'n Bitch" containing knit and crochet projects for guys. If you'd like to read more about the book visit the Workman site at http://www.workman.com/products/9780761146179

The only thing I've made

The only thing I've made from the Stitch 'n Bitch books has been the "Skully" sweater. It was my first sweater, chosen because of the complete lack of any real shaping. I had plans to make some of the other items, mainly for gifts, but they keep getting pushed back farther and farther onto my knitting list.

Even though there is a female slant to the books, they do give token nods to male knitters. I also like the whole attitude of "be free, be creative, and have fun," which is missing from so many knitting books.

As far as finding a Stitch 'n Bitch group, I think you're looking for http://www.stitchnbitch.org/snb_groups.htm.
