RainCityRick No More!

RainCityRick's picture

Well, my partner was just offered a fantastic job in Napa, California. It looks like RainCityRick may become WineCountryRick!

I know that there are a bunch of guys on here from the Bay Area. I'd love to get some information on any knitting groups in the area. We're thinking about either living in Napa itself or possibly a little closer in to the city (like Vallejo.) Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rick My partner and I

Hi Rick
My partner and I live in Martinez -- that is about halfway between Napa and San Francisco. I am also a hospice social worker and have worked with clients in Napa, Solano and Contra Costa County.

In addition to Vallejo (which has a very checkered history) You might want to check out Benicia - it is a very cute town on the bay just south of Vallejo.

It is also pretty easy to get to Napa from Novato which is north of San Rafael in Marin County.

As Bill mentioned it can be quite shocking to move here and find out how expensive everything is -- housing prices, gas, food, yarn, knitting needles, etc. It takes some getting used to for sure.

Anyway, feel free to contact me if I can be of help and let us know when you get to the area - maybe we can start a new knitting group in the burbs.
