Been Pretty Busy - Not Knitting Much

MasonM's picture

Last night was the first time I've been able to spend any time knitting in a few days. It was nice to finally be able to sit back, relax, and knit a few rows on the still unfinished scarf.

It is coming along though. Before going to bed last night I took a quick measurement and it's at 44" now. I'm guessing that there is enough yarn left on the skein for maybe another 8 - 10". When the skein runs out the scarf will be finished.

I'll be getting home from the road some time on Monday. I'll be home for a week and so will have some knitting time.

I hit a sale at Hobby Lobby and picked up a circ, some DPNS in sizes 6 and 8, and a few skeins of sport weight yarn. I'm going to tackle socks and a hat while I am home.

The international sock of

The international sock of doom (you should be able to google it, is a nice worsted weight ankle sock. (Note the errata in the pattern). It's pretty easy and quick, and comfy: I'm wearing a pair right now. Handknit wool socks in winter. OHMYGOD! I will never wear crummy cotton socks in the cool months again. Great for something to do when you fly: I recommend bryspun flexi needles (DP), because they are plastic and non-threatning, and non-breakable...

Not tonight honey: I'm knitting...

"Great for something todow when you fly," says Bob.

I love that! I can imagine the conversation at security. "Hmmm, I see you've got knitting needles in your carry-on luggage."

"That's correct sir, I'm working on the 'International Sock of Doom.'"

"Come with me please."

Socks are great fun!

Socks are great fun! Starting with a larger needle and sportweight yarn is a good idea for a first sock! What part of the country do you drive? Perhaps if we all find out we can connect while you are on the road!

Knit on!
