A Brethren Sock in Progress

Crafty Andy's picture

This is the best pattern ever for me and I am willing to make it in as many colors as I can get, lol. Hope to have this done by tomorrow. I have made this pattern so many times it has become like second nature. The heel has been turned and the gusset has been picked. Now comes the easy part.

Very nice, Andy. Do you adapt

Very nice, Andy. Do you adapt the heel turn to one you prefer best? I think I had to do so, but it's been long enough that I can't recall for certain. I do remember putting the slip stitch at the end of the row as it makes for a more even edge for me.

I go along with the heel he suggest, but I am making it with two strands of yarn, without any problems

Andy, I still haven't tried

Andy, I still haven't tried this sock pattern yet. I'm such a coward. Each time I see yours...my fingers start to twitch! Now those look like very long DPN's. Might I ask where you got them?

Signature needles US 1 2.25

Signature needles US 1 2.25 mm. 8 inches. I got these because I wanted something very sturdy to last me. I have not been able to bend them and I am very happy with the. I shall not buy a replacement pair ever in my life lol. I do have a 2nd set. They are a bit grabby which is nice for me. These are the needles I use to makes socks when they call for small needles. I have used them even with dk weight yarn. Expensive, but a good investment. The length is sometimes problematic with long sleeves, but other than that I love them

I'm not Andy, but I've had

I'm not Andy, but I've had those needles on my wishlist for ages.

They're made by Signature Needle Arts, and can be had in lengths of up to 8 inches: http://www.signatureneedlearts.com/double-point-needles/dpn-1-225.html
