I am completely freaking out! I bought a book a few weeks back called "Knits Men Want". I finally decided to knit something from it and ran into the biggest problem! The scarf pattern in the book does not only have corrections that need to be made, but the pattern contained in the book does not match the picture shown in the book!!! I'm livid!!! I began to knit it up and several rows in, I discovered that this is a completely different scarf pattern!! I looked for an email, but can not find one!!! OMG!!! Help!!!

Weird. Nobody seems to have found any issues on Ravelry and everyone who knit the scarf loves it. Not enough input to make it useful for you.

I have to say that I was too quick to say all I've said. It's my inexperience. I should have just asked for help. :-)

I have that exact book.

I have that exact book. Which page is it on? Is it confusing to follow the pattern the way the author has written them? If you could tell me which page and pattern, I'd love to look it over. Cheers, Sid

I think it's hard to see the pattern of most scarves with just an inch or so completed. The photo that Bruce provides is artistically "posed" but it is hard to tell what the beginning inch or so should look like. Bruce is excellent at responding and offering help. I have contacted him several times and he is a genuinely nice person. Best of luck.

I have the book you are referring to. If you like, I can take a look at the pattern and give it a go and see if I have the same issue you're having.

Try Googling the book

Try Googling the book title----there are lots of options there that might help.

This is NOT the kind of surprise you need on a new project. Somewhere in the book or on the dust jacket might/should be a website address-----contact it and see if you can find out why picture and pattern don't match. Hard to believe no one caught this obvious mistake. Only saving grace is if the pattern is one you like. I will be very interested in what response you get on an inquiry.

Thank You Dobbysoxer. I

Thank You Dobbysoxer. I found his blog and left a post with the problem and my email that He has to read personally before it a appears. It doesn't need to appear, only the pattern need magically appear! The pattern within the book is ok, but it wasn't something that I would have been drawn to knit. The picture made me say, YES!!!! I'd like to knit that one. I thought that it was beautiful and different from all that I'd BEEN doing. I felt that I might feel a sense of discipline and a challenge. Hopefully I'll receive it soon. Thank You again! :-) Nehkhasi
