Welcome!! It is a bit overwhelming at first. I picked it up about 7 years ago and I often wish I'd kept it up after learning to knit a hat when I was probably 7 or 8. Oh well... at least we're knitting now right? :-)

Welcome. And relax. The overwhelming aspect fades in time. I promise. Just keep those needles churning out the projects. As for knitting advice, Mark's right, just shout and someone will answer. My best piece of advice is only one glass of wine (or drink of preference) per knit session.

the "overwhelming" fades as far as the knitting goes - but sometimes comes back as far as RESULTS - the first time you block a bundle of lace that looks like a tangle of knots and it becomes a beutiful piece of lace ; putting together that bunch of *(&($%*%* stupid blocks knit from leftovers and discovering you have knit a beauiful afghan....

Welcome Sean!
It's always great to add a new member to our group. I hope you enjoy knitting as much as I do. I just started back in September and really enjoy it a lot. If you ever need any help, just post your questions in your blog and undoubtedly, you will get some of the best answers and suggestions. There are really some extremely talented guys in here. I'm just to the northwest of you in Chicago.

Enjoy yourself here on MWK (Men Who Knit)!
