In keeping with the spirit

AKQGuy's picture

Of a new year, I'm posting to let you guys know I'm still checking in regularly.

I already had a post with the green baby blanket, I'm throwing on some pics of the yellow/orange one and the tea pot cozy I knit up the other day.

Hope you all are getting to knit/crochet/tat your fiber loving hearts out.

Good work on the tea cozy.

Good work on the tea cozy. I'm liking the yellow-orange-red blanket, too. Makes me want to do one....

Very nice work indeed, fellas. I saw both of the baby blankets and can say that the pictures barely do them justice. I really like the tea cozy but haven't seen it in person. I may have to figure it out or ask for pointers. Still, since I don't drink much hot tea anymore - just steeped iced tea - it may be a moot point. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Well, I started with a stockinette circle and increased tot he rib where the pot bowed out. I then knit until the spout in the 2x2 rib and threw in a mitten thumb style gusset and a gap where the handle should go by simply breaking from the round and knitting back and forth until it was time to rejoin and then close the top. Pretty simple. You know me, like to wing it but try to keep things simple and manageable.

Thanks, Q. It may be a great way to use up odds and ends. Plus, it may encourage me to start drinking hot tea again. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Well, it is great seeing you whenever you can check in. Beautiful work, by the way! I did not see the afghan you made reference to, but I like what you are doing now. I love the colors in the yarn you are using.
