So today is the last day of TNNA, I think, in Long Beach. I am hoping that as I was told, my first ever published pieces were going to be on display this weekend at the show in the Skacel booth. I am both excited that so many people would be looking at my work and afraid that so many people would be looking at my work. I just hope that it will get me noticed a little more. I have been trying to get my work out there with patterns on my blog (of which there is a new one: www.smalltownknitguy.blogspot.com Dec. 31 coffee cozy), pictures on facebook, and ravelry. It is almost like a 2nd job. Part of the problem is lack of quality fiber in my area (very rural northeastern NC) and people just don't want to pay for handmade. Well since this is a dream, I will keep dreaming and keep trying. Someday soon I hope to hear, "Hey, isn't that Rusty, the Small Town Knit Guy?" To which I will reply, "Why, yes I am!"
