First Customer

My wife and I organized an area on our sun porch last spring for knitting. It has a couch, rocking chair, dresser, and shelves for yarn storage. After several months, our "Knitting Knook" as we have come to call it, had its first customer. She was a very fast learner, experienced with crochet, and in 45 minutes, she had cast on, knit, purled, and done 2x2 ribbing. She took some business cards and has at least one prospect for another class. I also got a message from another friend who wants to learn as well. I am hoping that this will become a venture that will help keep my yarn habit money supply flowing. It was great to share and teach someone else what I so enjoy doing. Tomorrow is finger knitting class at the local library, 25 kids have signed up. My 7 year old daughter is going with me to help. Wish us luck.

Lots of luck. I taught a class on knitting when I worked at our local library but made the mistake of not splitting it up by age range... 3rd grade and under learn at a whole different rate thaqn above 3rd grade. Luckily, a couple of coworkers could help so it was pretty successful, overall. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
