I love modular knitting. I've made several afghans. Look at my previous entries to get an idea of what can be done.
I've toyed with modular several times. Not having to seam things is great and the I-Cord edging would be a grand finish. Good luck and have fun. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
I'm in the process of doing a modular afghan. Stitches are picked up for each square, so there's no seaming involved. I then plan to put a an applied I-Cord around it instead of the standard garter stitch border. It's turning out to be a fun knit.
I tried something similar years ago but you had to sew together the individual squares. I tried, but it always came out lumpy and uneven. Maybe if I tried it again today it wouldn't.
