Reynolds Lopi Lite Knitting Wool - Source

I am trying to source Reynolds Lite Lopi in the following colours: #005 Black Heather and #0054 Ash Heather. I have done multiple internet searches but to no avail. Does anyone know of a source for these colours? I cannot buy them in New Zealand. Cheers!

Hello Again

I just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone again. I decided to go back to school and it has kept me very busy. I wasn't doing much knitting or contributing to any blogs.
Now that I'm break between semesters I've been knitting and visiting my favorite websites- including this one!

Oh What a Week!

TGIF. Started the week with a great New Year's party at friends' house in downtown DC. Took my knitting and sat and knit all evening, occassionally getting up to dance to various hits of the 70's and 80's (the big bonus was that the hostess, a woman from Iran, had The Very Best of Country Gold CD, so we got to listen to Donna Fargo belt out "The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA").

Went home, woke up with a slightly sore throat, and spent New Years catching up on reruns of the new Battleship Gallactica with a fire in the fire place. By Tuesday though, I had NO VOICE. Not just a scratchy, deep, Lauren Bacall, sultry sort of no voice, but really NO voice. Then, I opened up the kiln and what to my wandering eyes should appear but some strange and unwanted (read: ugly) variation on a trusted glaze that I had used dozens of times - for a HUGE order that was due mid-December (I won't go into the kiln disaster and the successful and very butch experience of rewiring the whole d**m thing that made the order late in the first place).

So Wednesday, still with no voice, I drove out to the burbs to the clay supply store to pick up a commercial clear glaze (ack) and then mixed up a simple low fire clear glaze in my shed just to be on the safe side. throw the glaze on a couple of pots and stuck them in the kiln to test fire.

OT - silly stuff

We share the house with a 5 foot bear - 'Blackie' is handy to have around as he does like to model knitted items - however, he tends to lounge around the house in a kimono (He's home all day - the least he could do is clean up a little or occasionally have dinner ready)

and he also insists on his constitutional right to arm bears.

see attached photo.

(sorry for the duplicates)

Recent Finished Projects

Hi all,

I have been lurking for quite a while now and just wanted to share some updates to what I have been knitting since I started learning last April.

That's me standing and the sweater I'm wearing is my first major project. The pattern is Vanille (http://www.bluealvarez.com/bluealva/portfolio/pf-vanille.html) and it was made with sea green acrylic yarn. The sweater is warm and fits just right.

The cellphone cozy in the picture is my gift to my SnB groupmate during our Christmas celebration last December.

The shrug in the picture is my second major project. It is a gift to another friend. I just made up the structure of the shrug and just used the Feather and Fan stitch pattern. It was made with cotton yarn from China.

Other finished projects include a beanie hat, scarf, shawl and several practice swatches including a dishcloth.

I am currently making a scarf for a friend. The pattern is here http://www.crystalpalaceyarns.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/cameo-faggotst-scarf.html. I'm using the same cotton yarn from China in green and brown combined together.

A Note From The UP

Hello everyone.

I am in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan right now. I found a nice knitting shop here in Houghton, MI. I will be traveling a lot in the near future, so I hope to keep you up to date on all of the knitting shops I visit. I would love to tell you more about knitting projects, but I have hit a stand-still on the current project. I will do more when I have more than a few seconds to sit down.

A glimpse into my life can be found at: www.seniornationals.org This is what I do for a living.

Christmas is over...

... thank god.
Ya know, having a deadline for knitted gifts really can frazzle a fella. Yall should warn people. :-) I think there should be a list... "100 things you should know before knitting Christmas gifts"

Well, since it's done I thought I'd post a shameless picture of the blanket I made from the counterpane squares a while back. I used some Caron Simply Soft from Wally World. Eh... it worked. Sorry you can't see lots of detail in the pics. It was the first lace-type thing I'd done. I forgot to take the pictures before I wrapped em up. Oops. The second picture has the niece and my brother holding it.

I completely forgot to take pictures of the other gifts I knitted up. Two stockings (on for the bro holding the blanket and the other for his cute dog), three scarves, the blanket and the Peacock Feathers shawl from Fiddlesticks Knitting (link: http://www.fiddlesticksknitting.com/PeacockLarge.html ) I don't have pictures of the shawl yet. I'll take em after it gets blocked. Tho I'm not sure how I'm gonna block the damn thing. It's HUGE and I don't have the bed space nor the open floor space where the dog won't run around. I think I'll call the LYS's and see if they'll block it for me.
