Morning All, I really liked this patten by Anne. Fun and quick. I like my personal twist with the orange toe and chartreuse heel. Hope it shapes up for a fulfilled weekend for everyone. Regards to All, JRob
Evening gentleman! :)
Just wanted to say hi and glad to finally be part of Men Who Knit.
Will upload some pics of projects when I have time.
In an effort to expand my repertoire of stitches, I created a prayer shawl using the half open seed stitch. The texture is chunky and drapes beautifully. This one is off to a charity event at a local salon/spa that has donated its services for an entire day to anyone going through chemotherapy.
Hi guys. I finished the socks that are made using the Evil Genius Sock method found at http://www.yarmando.com/. Thanks again, Ken in Maine for sharing that site with me.
Hi gents! I just finished up a little something for myself. I made the Antler Hat by 'tincanknits'. The pattern is free on Ravelry. It features five vertical cabled 'antlers' that go from the end of the ribbing up to the tip of the hat. The only mod I made to the pattern was taking out one repeat of the Antler Cable chart.
Has anyone ever tried to make a circle with magic loop???
I try to teach myself a few new stitches here and there, and then turn the stitch into a prayer shawl. I just finished a tile stitch prayer shawl that had great texture and drape. If any of you are part of this ministry within your faith, you can find my pattern on Ravelry under my name It's a free download.
Happy New Year
Since I liked Anne's last pattern so much I decided to start a sock pattern by her. I began them last Thursday evening. Here is a current picture of my progress. Thinking about doing a bright orange toe. What do you think? Hope you're all having a great weekend. Weather in STL has been spectacular for the middle of winter. The last two days sunny and over 50 degrees. Keep the needles going, JRob.
So you ask what do you love - it is a classic. Anne's pattern is extremely well written, easy to follow and a breeze to knit. Almost any fibre can be used and it would be wonderful. Everything we love in a project. The design is not overly complicated and knits up beautifully. Besides it just looks great. It is one of those patterns and designs that I envision knitting again and again.
I screwed up when posting my fair isle sweater and neglected to add these photos....a close up of the pattern and the book used for inspiration.
