"ANGEL" My version from the book "Knitting Mochimochi" by Anna Hrachovec, a great book about a knitted form of amigurumi knitting.
"MOSAIC 1" pot holder 18cmX18cm Pattern from the book "Mosaic Knitting" by
Barbara G Walker
This is a good example of 2 color slip stitch knitting. I knitted the whole "thing" in garter stitch making the completed pot holder lay flat, but the 2 colors don't seem to "pop" as they would in stockinette.
At the last knitting guild meeting, one of the ladies brought a couple of hats she knit out of left-over yarns. She even made up a bunch of "kits" for us! She just put together some odd-ball yarns that were left over and there was not much left to make anything out of them. She used 3-4 yarns together, 10 mm needles, so it is a fast knit.
I was never so glad to complete a project!
Hi guys, I was just on YouTube watching an instructional video series by Lucy Neatby about cabling. In part two of the series she shows how to neaten the left hand edge of a cable. This side of the cable is looser due to the way the yarn travels from knit to purl. She shows how you can remedy this by reverse-wrapping the first purl stitch after a series of knit stitches.
7 day afghan, yea right! I remember about two years ago ilhiker a.k.a Mark displayed for all of us a beautiful afghan he knitted and remarked "never again." I should have listened carefully to what he said. A while back I picked up this book at my local Friends of the Library book sale titled "7 Day Afghans," chose the one that I would like to do and got started.
This is a pair that I finished yesterday. I did try to match up the stripping again this time and think it came out pretty well. I hope you guys aren't getting tired of seeing socks. I don't post them on here for praise, but just to share my work with you guys. The guild that I'm in is starting a KAL this month for the Ten Stitch Triangle. The Ravelry link is:
I was going through some old stash of yarns and found a ball of duponti silk. I have no idea what yardage it is. I had made a really nice scarf from it a year or so ago. Its a medium size ball. my guess its worsted weight yarn too. Any suggestions?
While knitting the torso of my sweater, I needed something to break up the monotony of that, so I decided to make some slippers. They are Saturday Morning Slippers by Kristin Spurkland from her book the Knitting Man(ual). I'll get one slipper done tonight, just five more rows of twisted garter stitch for the ankle cuff.
