One Off The Needles!

After frogging the first clog back to it's origins on Tuesday, I finaly finished it this morning.  I'm going to start the second today and take it with me when I go to California next week.  After all, it's going to end up there anyway.

There's been some good work being shown by Justin and Ben.  Good going guys!  And JPaul.... I have to, ahemm, ask, is yours getting any bigger yet?

How 'bout the rest of you.  Making progress? Thoughts?  Do you hate me for getting you all into this???

Ok Clogters!

Just who are we knitting these for???? Myself, this pair will be for my Grandmother.  Have already done a pair for Jim, his mom and myself.

"And He'll Have Fun, Fun, Fun....

...... till his daddy takes his needles awaaaaaaay!"

Well it looks as though I have the first tragedy on this group venture.  I normally make a copy of the pattern, throw it in a page protector and use a post-it note to keep track of where I am.  I was out of post-its yesterday and my smart butt thought I could wing it while knitting at work.   Boy was I wrong!  I'm now frogging the upper from row 23.

Next time I'll try dropping bread crumbs as I go through the forest.

I know some of you have already said, but what yarn y'all using???  Color?  Fiber Content?

Gentlemen... Grab Your Balls!

AND WE'RE OFF!  (if we are lucky)

For those of you who are tired of seeing my ugly mug up here every morning.....I am too.  But just think..... I have to live with it every day!

I want to thank you all for getting behind this progect.  Happily, next monday we are going to be having our first men's knitting group getting together here in Dallas.  What I would like to accomplish here is to give those who have no such opportunity, to have a sense of commoradarie and union, develope friends and live, love and promote what we all do.... in short... a sense of home.

And The Countdown Continues

Hi all you clogsters!

Even though the pattern explains the M1, W&T and the SSK should you need a visual on these techniques, Knittinghelp offers short video tutorials on how to accomplish these.  Merely click on 'abreviations explained' tab at the top of the page.

The video icons in blue are for English style and the pink are for Continental.  A pink AND blue video icon are for both.

Just remember when you slip a stitch (with the exception of SSK) always slip it as if to PURL and all will be well with the universe!

Something's Funny About Russia

I have been playing around with the "russian join" since I ran across it on Kennys (KC78) blog a few weeks ago.  I really like the results.

So last night there came an opportunity to use it again.  I made the loops, wove in the needle, pulled the loops through, clipped the excess.  Great looking join.

NOW IF ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOWS HOW TO KNIT WITH THE YARN TAIL... CONTACT ME!!

P.S.  We have over 20 guys in the clog-along.  Thanks for y'all getting behind this.

Clog-Along Anyone??

A few of us guys around here namely, Warren, Luke, Gabriel and myself have decided to do a Clog-Along using Fiber Trends AC-33x pattern.  They're fast, easy and make a great gift for yourself or someone in that oh so up and comming Christmas season.

The plan is to start Monday June 17, and keep everyone abreast of our progress, problems and frustrations.  We'll keep the cussing for our PM's.  This is neither a contest nor a race merely a good ol' cyberspace knit-along.

So join us if you are interested.  We would love to have as many guys who want to knit these up to be involved.

Recruiting Effort

Hey Boys,

I have been trying to get Ken in Maine to join the group for weeks now.  He's been thinking about it but never gets around to it.  (like me finishing that 3yo sweater).

My proposal is that those who want to, visit his blog http://alterknituniverse.blogspot.com/  leave a comment and casually invite him.  He really would be a good member to have around.

(this sounds like rush week)

I'm Convinced

I have become a real fan of the "Russian join" since I ran across it on Kenny's website.

I have used it four times now on the two pair of clogs I'm knitting up and the join really is virtualy undetectable.

Thanks Kenny!
