Just a drive-by hi y'all! Still alive and kicking.... trust me kicking hard!
Yes, still alive.
I have a question. I'm finishing up "Half Dome" off of Knitty and I'm seaming it up with a mattress stitch. My question is, when I come to the rolled edge do I reverse to the wrong side? That sounds logical.
It may sound stupid but I've never seamed a rolled edge before.
May that big Lone Star shine on you from afar....
It's going to be a big one for me this year as when I look back at all the eggs I have laid over the past year there is a lot to hide and a whole lot I want to keep hidden.
And guess what? It has been lightly snowing here in Dallas all day so far! That should make them easy to find.
Y'all have a good one,
Yes folks started knitting continental yesterday. So far the trip has been lovely so I thought I'd write.
Wish you were here, Really I do!
We got the keys to the house yesterday.... actually Jeff has them and hasn't given me a set yet. Come to think of it, he still has my credit card too. Maybe he's trying to tell me something......
Anyway going to pack the "sheep" this afternoonand herd them to thier new home.
I hope you all are doing well; I am.
I've had a lot of response by email and PM's concerning my post yesterday regarding another knit-along this year. I love the suggestions and I'm personally up to knitting anything we agree on.
This time however, I think we should take all suggestions and then take a poll on the project. My only criteria is that it be a project that is interesting but is capable of all levels of knitting, is fairly inexpensive, and is either utilitarian or giftable and can be completed in less than a century.
PM me or email me at email@example.com and I will post a poll with suggested project say.......... by the end of April????
Keep in mind Mr. Justin Huston is in charge of this one! That'll teach him!
Love ya boys!
Quick update on my life as a few of you have asked. I've not been on or chatty lately as the house closes next Tuesday and I am frantically trying to get the remainder of the packing done. All the boxes are closing in around me and the disorganization is driving me crazy! All will be back to normal, ????, in a couple of weeks.
I have been knitting though. Working on a scarf for Jeff' mom in Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon (won't do that again), still working on the mindless 2x2 rib scarf for his dad and there is still the Debbie Bliss Sweater that will have its first birthday April 13. That was the day of conception.
Now, Justin, a great guy in my knitting group here in Dallas has suggested, and don't freak out, another knit-along this year. We haven't solidified a project yet so if you guys have any ideas we are open to them. To tell you a guy who sat here last Monday night knitting stocking net with a couple of beer bottles might just come up with a doozie on his own so suggest, suggest!!!
Hope all is going well with all of you around the world and I promise I shall be more social when all the dust settles.
Or to be truthful we got a 30 year mortgage. (Chris, knock it off with the buyers remorse thing)
Yep, "Whatever Deity" willing and the creek don't rise, Jeff and I should be moving in about this time next month. Trust me, I need that month to pack and throw the last 7 years up and away, but we are both excited as heck about it all and Jeffy has the place completely remodeled already; blueprints included! He had better get used to looking at those for quite awhile.
The only drawback is that I have to deal with that black hole of a spare bedroom of mine and worse yet face all my deepest fears again....... all my UFO's!
Best to y'all,
Ok, I know I've been MIA lately and have a lot of email from you guys being concerned about my welfare, thank y'all, and thought I would touch base and let you know what is going on.
Jeff and I have been looking at buying a house here in Dallas, yes ladies and germs we are moving in together, and I think we have found the one we want. Right now I'm awaiting a call from the realtor to see if our offer has been accepted. Yep, we're gonna own our own little piece of the Lone Star State. If that happens y'all are invited to come vist, Yankees included. We'll show you what southern hospitality is all about. A land where the old folks sit on the porch and strum their bayous and the chitlin's bloom in the front yard. (that last sentence was for the Yankees)
I've finally admitted to Jeff that I am a P.O.W. (prisoner of wool) and revealed (some) of my stash to him. He must really like me.. he still wants to move in together. That says a lot about a man!
Hope y'all are doing well and thanks as always,
If anyone on here is going to be in or around the Oklahoma City area this weekend a bunch of us guys are driving up from Dallas to ruin the Habana Inn Saturday and would like you to join us.
I'm already looking forward to meeting the guys on here who have said they will be there. Although it will not be all knitting it would be fun to meet y'all.
