Here's my latest contribution to the Fiber Arts Blog on our local newpaper's website.
It's been a while since I've had a completed project to share.
I just couldn't wait for actual lessons with someone with experience. I have a good understanding of the concept of spinning, how a wheel works, flyer and bobbin assemblies, drafting, etc.
My next door neighbor bought me a spinning wheel. It's a Dutch wheel called Edammertje, one I've never heard of.
Here it is! Finally! I knit this back in October (at least) and I just sewed up the shoulder seams on Sunday and put the buttons on tonight.
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving I had the pleasure of meeting designer Anne Hanson who came to do a trunk show at Trumpet Hill, my favorite LYS.
Honestly, by Friday it was beginning to look like the lost weekend thanks to Mother Nature.
I am going to the fair on Saturday to see this in person!
...sucks out loud so far.
