Good Afternoon All,
Here is a picture of the completed sweater.
Good Evening All,
I've started the next sweater for my new grandson, Bennett who just turned 3 weeks old. ( I am doing 4 for this winter and glad they knit up fast) The free pattern is called Johnny Boy a web exclusive by Berroco using their sox yarn. I've substituted a German yarn Schafpate Baden - Wurttemberg "Opal" a pull over and sock yarn. It is 75% virgin wool yarn & a 25% polyamid.
Yesterday was cold and damp in St. Louis. Wife out of town visiting the new grandson this past week so I spent the day at the yarn shop knitting in the company of friends. I got a lot done on Bennett's ribbed baby jacket. Came home had supper and complete the jacket at 9:00 pm and went to put it together and had trouble. Found a mistake and had to rip out three hours of work.
Always on the lookout for interesting fibers I stopped in a yarn store near work on the way home and was looking for something different. Here is my find - Classic Elite Yarns Verde Collection Woodland 65% wool and 35% nettle.
Good Afternoon Guys,
Good Afternoon All,
My official end to summer - my pool was closed and winterized today. Had a great morning visiting with my landscaper to finalize the design plans for my back yard. Project should start in the next couple of weeks. Then spent the rest of the morning knitting. I am almost done with Bennett's jacket that I started last saturday. Finished the jacket this afternoon.
I had several requests for a photo of the ES Adult Surprise Jacket I knitted for my wife. Here is a picture needs the buttons and blocking. I used a Noro for the stripping and a co-ordinated a honey brown wool to pair with it. I followed her pattern as written in School House Press Pattern #5.
What a week. Just got back friday from Memphis. At 2:20 am tuesday morning the call came - my first grandchild was on his way and about to be born. Wife and I rushed out of the house and headed out of STL down highway 55 to Memphis (4 hours). Missed the birth by 9 miles. Mother and grandson are doing well and my son is as proud as can be. Who can blame him.
Last September I bought this book by Rebecca Burgess. She visited 3 natural dye artist across the US and in her book showcases 3 dozen common plants that yield striking hues. One of the places she visited was Hillcreek Fiber Studio in Columbia Missouri only two hours from my house.
Good Morning All,
