Podcasts?

I recently got an iPod, and subsequently discovered podcasts.  I've currently got KnitCast, Cast-on and It's a Purl, Man on my subscription list.  For those of you who listen to podcasts, and specifically knitting podcasts, which ones do you listen to?  Are there any specifically male ones (It's a Purl, Man is, I know).  And what is the feeling on getting together a community podcast?  Is there any interest in it (like different authors on the podcast, in a collaborative effort)?

This is where my mind goes.

The thong

I hused Cascade Fixation yarn and a size 5 needle. There was my maistake. I will yse a smaller needle size this time. It may take me awhile to knit it. I back on the road again tomorrow. Yeah! I can finally go back to work

Frogged the thong

I had to for the thong. The problem was the gauge. I cheked it half way through. I fit like I was King Kong. I wish I was that big. LOL. But I am not. I am starting over I will also try it on every so often to check the fit. Anway it will get done and fit.

Two Easy lace shawls

I call this my "Un-Vention" shawl - the lace pattern is adapted from a filler stitch on a traditional lace stitch that goes by multiple names. It makes a lace that is virtually "little leaf lace" - but GROWS at a constant rate.

I tend to think of this a a single pattern with two ways of constructing it - but various friends insist that it is really two patterns. so here they are:

Un-Vention Shawl - tip up

Cast on 1.
1) K,yO,K into single stitch
2 and all even rows -purl
3) K, [k,yO,K into single stitch], k
5) k2, [k,yo,k into single stitch], k2
7) k3, yo, k1, yo, k3
9) k3, yo, k until 3 stitches remain, yo, k3

my first hat!!

ok, so i cheated slightly by starting off small. i made my first hat, a baby striped stocking cap. i gotta say, i need a little more practice using DPNs....you can definitely tell where the seam is. i am hoping that will kinda be hidden after blocking...

The Sweater Workshop

I don't care much for groups and MWK is the only group I belong to now, but today I joined The Sweater Workshop Yahoo group.  For those of you who are working from this book, you might want to join.  Jackie Fee is the moderator and offers advice and assistance.

I might add that I've had a couple of very pleasant emails with Ms. Fee and she is great!

So, if circular seamless knitting is for you, come right along and join up!

just an update--nothing special.

after Warren's glowing recommendation i ordered the Jacqueline Fee book and i just got it......excited about the process of working through it.  i've been working on a hooded pullover sweater and decided to rip everything out.  holding the back panel up....i was overcome by a tremendous dissatisfaction......the work so far was just sub par and only excuse i can lob is work has been a madhouse with 3 people off schedule for awhile so i've been providing coverage at the hospital above and far beyond my normal 80 hrs/week.  when my feet hurt, i can't knit worth crap.  i am finishing up one project almost on time.  a dear friend has redecorated her bedroom and bath and wanted washcloths in a brilliant blaze orange colour but in a pattern that would satisfy her "Goth" and "DeathMetal" bent.  so, 6 were done using the skull and crossbones pattern Jeff Shafer has posted here and 6 were more traditional.  i thought of doing the remaining six using logos for bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, and Christian Death but have been too tired/lazy/unmotivataed to fight with Excel to chart 'em.  working the skull and crossbones was fun the first two times, but i contemplated falling on my size 35 bamboo needles for the last 4 times.  no pattern is THAT fun, y'knowhutimean?
