I decided to make a cushion. The next cushion is already in the works :-)
I've put the yellow "discovery" sock aside and am doing one using the Lifestyle Toe Up Socks - No Swatch this time. I also like this yarn a lot more; it's a deep teal with darker heathery tones. Knit Picks Swish worsted (superwash merino), Rainforest Heather, on size 3 needles (can you say dense fabric?).
What happens when American acceptance of knitting machines to be carted off to Asia, knitting machine operator training fades into memory, and independent knitwear designers collide?
Check out this idea.
I haven't logged into my account here in quite some time. I just moved to Indiana from Oregon and I have had some issues finding a good knitting group, but I have a good line on one now and I am looking forward to making some new knitting connections here in my new home.
Just finished a new pair of sock using the white wool/acrylic yarn that we were gifted with at the retreat. They are really nice and thick as they are heavy worsted but using US5 needles made the foot and heel tighter and I think that will make them a bit stronger.
Well, I turned 60 today. Thankfully, I don't feel a day over 59! ;)
My wife and son always find fun things with which to festoon me. Two sizes of sock blockers, three skeins of yarn, a nice knitting book, and my favorite chocolates from the folks at Godiva. They are always so generous.
Speaks so loudly and clearly to my inner eighth grader who lurks just barely below the surface.
And another submission for JRob. Toe up, following the recipe in Cat Bordhi's Insouciant Sock Knitters book. Wondering if I'll be able to finish the foot part with the 50 gram ball I started with (size 14 feet). Using Pattons superwash dk.
I have been looking at this design for a long time, and because it is so unusually shaped, I had to try it.
I have a lot of yarn on cones, and chose this green to use for this shawl. The yarn is very fine, so I used it double. I think it has some wool content, but I don't have the label anymore. It blocked very nicely.
Warning: Not for the weak of stomach. But my creative side goes weird when I'm cooped up in the house. :)
