I have been checking out this site for a few weeks and finally got around to joining today.
So, Hello all!
I was wondering if anyone in the New York/Philadelphia area was planning on going on the knitting cruise on Sunday, September 25th that The Point Knitting Cafe in NYC is hosting. I have already signed up with one of my knitting pals and thought it would be fun to meet a few of the folks on here. If you are going, drop me a note.
Also, I have been knitting with a group in the New Hope PA and Lambertville NJ for the past year and wanted to extend an invitation to anyone interested to join us. We are an official guild through tkga and meet several times a month. We also meet most Sunday nights at the Starbuck's in New Hope.
Well one jacket nearly finished just have to decide whether to use a zipper or some other type of closure,so started something else another jacket, onto the last sleeve. Also have started spinning again after many years,so there is the wool, alpaca and silk waitng to be spun which will mean deciding what knit up first,(and I have to find the time to go to work as well).
Keep up the knitting.
Hey - i'm new to the crowd. Got a quick question for anyone who may know of a really quality worsted weight cashmere that isn't too insanely pricey? Anyone have any trusted brands or weights they want to share? Thanks.
I've been a lurker here, but thought I'd write a quick HEY. I'm a knitter from Vermont, a children's book author and a teacher. I live with my partner of 16 years, 6 chickens and way too much yarn.
Several projects are next to the couch - a knitted teddy-bear on 2 circulars, a mohair scarf, merino mittens and a mohair shawl. I've been felting a lot, too.
Just ordered some Bagdad Blue from Peace Fleece and plan to make a hat for a friend. I've been knitting a lot since the war began.
Glad to be here!
This is my first entry and unfortunately it will have to be short. The semester is getting started this week and I have no current projects so I d' better getting knitting! More to come, I PROMISE!!!!
Blogs. Everyone has one, it seems. I feel like I'm somehow missing out by not pouring out my thoughts to the wide, wide web. And yet, at the same time, there's that little feeling nagging away in the back of my head that wasting space and people's time is an act of hubris (well, I am a reserved Brit, you know; ok, I'm a Brit at least).
Have just finished a prayer shawl for a very amazing nun friend of mine is is 60, blind and does Karate...It was my first go ant incorporating moss stitch and ended up looking really cool....but mu most exciting discovery has been finding out about freeform knitting, Have any of you guys heard of it? It is bloody amazing what you can do with it and what is really cool is that you can't really make any mistakes with it, as you don't use a pattern, you just knit by intuition, using a variety of yarns, stitches and even kneedle sizes. I've working on a piece that is eneding up looking really amazing, that I think will evolve into a bag, I'll try to post some pictures of it when , I've done a bit more.
Hey guys just woundering if there are any guys from Melbourne who would like to start a kniting group?
I'll be in Pasadena next week, so if you provide Gabriel with information on here, it will help both of us. Thank you.
Just wondering if any of you in the L.A. area have favorite knit shops....I'm headed there this week and would love to check them out!!?!?!?! Please send a message if you know where I should go.
Thanks for your time.....Gabriel
