Knit New Haven

My wife and I just completed a trip from St. Louis to New Haven CT to visit our son who just began a Masters Degree in Flute performance at Yale's School of Music. We drove to take in the fall foliage and were not disappointed. Spectacular!

The Man Behind the Kitchener Stitch

I got interested in the history of this stitch, wondering how it got its name. A search on Google (where else?) provided me with the answer.

New project bag completed!

Hi guys, just following up on my last post: I decided to buy the pattern for the Sock Sack a few days ago. After looking over the pattern, I went to one of our local discount stores, Mardens, where they have a large selection of fabrics. I found some fun robot-themed

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. . .

I head off to my journey driving from Chicago to my new home in central Florida. I am staying with one of our knitting buddies in Atlanta, Lou (AKA olddancer on Ravely) and I am really looking forward to that. The wine is in the car and so is my knitting stuff. It's funny. Spirit Day

Putting on my social justice hat for a moment to encourage everyone to wear purple tomorrow in support of at-risk youth, especially those who are LGBTQ, for what is now known as "Spirit Day".
I first mentioned this about 4 years ago here on MWK and decided it was time to bring it up again.

Favorite knitting bag?

I currently have a large knitting bag that will hold a lot of stuff...right now it's holding all kinds of notions in different zippered pockets, a drop spindle and some roving, a couple books, and three different knitting projects. It's great for carrying a bit of everything, but I often would like something smaller that would hold just my current project as well as a few essential notions.
