I started this hat at home then took it to Colorado to finish. Once there,
I realized it was a bit more intricate than I could focus on, so I brought it
home and finished here. It's made with acrylic. I am going to make another
one with good wool because I think the uniformity of the stitching may be
better with animal fiber.
Does anyone know of any cool KALs that have just started on ravelry or are
about to start?
I just finished the TDF and really enjoyed the community environment and am thinking I would like to try my first KAL.
Can anyone recommend any?
There are moments in a knitters life that are without match. Usually they are relatively fleeting- a finished project, a mother's joy at her new shawl or the admiration of others as they see skilled fingers producing intricate lace. I'd hardly imagined that it was possible to string a series of these moments together to create something akin to Nirvana, but this past weekend proved me wrong.
I fell asleep last night while knitting in bed -- trying to finish a 329-stitch row of purls. Woke up at 1:30, but roused myself only enough to flick off the light and go back to sleep. When the alarm went off at 6 my partner mumbled something about some knitting in the bed. The project had spent the night between us!
A BIG THANK YOU TO FRANK AND BRADY FOR ALL THE WORK THAT IT TOOK TO PUT THIS EVENT TOGETHER. YOU HAVE CHANGED LIVES IN A VERY GOOD WAY!
Dear knitting friends,
You'll be pleased to know that I entered in to the spirit of life in the country by finishing and entering a colour work cardigan for the Sheldwich Lees village fair...and I was a little irked to come second to a first-prize-winning set of eggs with stuck on plastic eyes.
Anyway, I share the photos for you all....
Good Evening All,
If not, you have now, and it is amazing.
