If anyone is looking for a quick knit up stocking stuffer these are great. The pattern is from The Knitting Man(ual) and is done in some left over sock yarn (Socrates - Alpaca with Twist.) I can knit them up in a couple if nights and people love them.
Love seeing all your great projects and reading the lively anecdotes.
I was wondering if any of you are interested in machine knitting or if this is even the right forum? I've seen a couple of posts on the subject and am sort of surprised that more guys don't seem that intrigued. I mean really: needles? MACHINE? Come on!
I started this cloth in June and delivered it on Sept 25..... It fits the table, and they like it!! I'm very happy about that because you know it could well be "not quite our thing." I stole the middle part of the pattern from "Azalea" by Marianne Kinzel, and made up the rest as I went along. Now I'm going to start one of the Niebling designs.... wish me luck.
Well what a summer this had been. If you own a convertible there is one thing you don’t want to happen, be sick from a severe allergy attack all summer long. It all started in mid June and I am just now getting over it, still cough a little, have itchy dry eyes, but at least I have full use of my voice once again.
I've attached my first real project. This is a baby blanket I've made for the expected granddaughter of a friend of ours. It was done on a Knifty Knitter loom (41 pegs) and took me about a month to do. It's done in garter stitch in three strips, and an I-cord, and then sown together. I finally got everything sown together after midnight last night!
I'm going to England 10/8 - 10/19 and am traveling to Wales from 10/10 - 10/14. I'm hiring a car in Guildford that Monday morning and driving west! I know I want to see the National Wool Museum and I want to look for knitting books in Hay-on-Wye but apart from that - I'm lost! I would welcome any input as I've never been farther west than Cardiff before. Thank you in advance!
Great little piece on The Early Show about the psychological benefits of knitting. Thought you all might enjoy watching this. Please note - they even show men knitting!
I will be in the DC/Baltimore area Oct 4 through 7 (okay - longer - but the previous and following weekends and monday the 3rd are already booked solid)
Any suggestions for activities?
Just curious if any of you guys in the LA area are going to or have been to one of these events? I'm thinking about checking it out Sunday.
