Yes, still alive.
I have a question. I'm finishing up "Half Dome" off of Knitty and I'm seaming it up with a mattress stitch. My question is, when I come to the rolled edge do I reverse to the wrong side? That sounds logical.
It may sound stupid but I've never seamed a rolled edge before.
May that big Lone Star shine on you from afar....
I decided to try my hands at lace, and make a shawl as a Mother's Day gift. While there was problem after problem with making it (starting with not realizing the yarn I mail ordered was variegated rather than solid), I think it turned out well in the end.
Even though the pattern is "beginner lace," there was a lot of blood (Knit Picks options are sharp!), sweat (well, I live in Arizona, it is to be expected), and profanity (I'm a man, I don't cry) that went into the making of it. Despite all that, it was still enjoyable to work on a different kind of knitting. I want to make another shawl, but I'd rather not have a time limit when I do. This one was fairly stressful, as I felt that I had to work on it even when I really wasn't in the mood.
The technical stuff (very Knit Picks-y):
Yarn: Knit Picks "Shimmer" (30% silk, 70% baby alpaca) in shade "Turquoise Splendor"
Pattern: Knit Picks Triangle Cover Shawl (not a free pattern, but inexpensive)
Needles Knit Picks Options, US #5, 40" cable.
Well, off to work on a Father's Day gift now....
I'm heading out for the weekend - I'll be spending it in 1840 at a MayFaire hosted by King Henry and King Oberon. should be an interesting weekend. I beleive Henry is between wives - but Mab and Titania are rumoured to be fighting over Oberon...
So far, the only other person thinking about taking the "Pilgrimage" is Brightbear. Has anyone else decided they are going? If so, how do we want to identify ourselves as Men Who Knit members so's we can find each other in the parks?

Where the boys are...but they don't knit...poor things
Men who knit, Its been quite a long time since I posted anything here. It thought I'd stop by and say hello and
show you some pictures of some of my latest FOs.
Happy May Day:)
Using my only free non-lunch period to catch up on some of the knitting I was not doing. I am about to make the toe decreases in my second sock. Maybe I can get it done by tonight, 'cause the nice weather is crying out for some sock wearing. (ha ha)
Just posting to say that I have found both my needles and my motivation, it is amazing how calming this hobby of mine is.
Have a nice day Y'all
