2 new purses

OK, got the tattoo last Wednesday. I love it. Still sore. Took 3 1/2 hours, but I love the results. Will post a pic once it heals. Got after my knitting on Sunday. Finished two purses. I've never poked a hole thru the purse after felting before. It was kinda scary! But I like the end result. Also finished my first double reverse cable scarf. Been workin on that thing for like a month! Decided I had too many projects 1/2 way done and needed to get the majority finished up.

Baby Surprise Jacket

Just finished an Elizabeth Zimmermann Baby Surprise Jacket from left over Briggs and Little wool. It was fun to do and is almost instant gratification. Still have to put buttons on it.

the joy of socks

Well I just got back from SF Stompede dance convention with the ever wonderful Steve, aka Bug or "BUG-WUG" {dodgingwindshields.com) my friend who was one of the ASL interpreters. Did I hand off my Sockwars socks to my victim who lived there? Of course not! I brought them back up to Portland with me and just stuck them in the mail. When I got home, I found out that I had been "Killed" by my NY assasin, and that her socks looked NOTHING like mine. Of course, I have to look at the pattern and figure out if I did something wrong. Although the socks I received have some obvious "BURPS" in the pattern, I love them. Very cool. I knit some obnoxiously colorful socks using the same pattern but taller and in a K3 P3 rib. Got one full sock done on the trip down and back (1 1/2hrs each way=3 hours total) much to the amazement of the flight crew and fellow passengers... I used to HATE FLYING, and now it is, OH BOY! Guilt free knitting time! "Look at me... I am so much more productive than you...playing solitaire on your laptop!"

Pictures to follow,

Purl 3 together versus SSPP

okay - I've been having problems with purl 3 together - small needles, fuzzy teensy yarn.

on the other hand I can slip 2 stitches purlwise (with yarn in front) purl one and pass slipped stitches over with barely a thought. As far as I can see they look identical when finished.

About to begin illusion knitting

I haven't done any illusion knitting yet, and recently I've been itching to put a certain video game character around me neck, so I thought I would combine the two and make a scarf. My question is this: do I need to stretch the image I'll be working on one way or another so it looks right after being converted into shadow knitting?

Latest and last Project for Winter 2006

Hi Guys,
Here is my latest project and also my last for winter 2006. It has been 37 deg C (close enough to 100 deg F) for the last two days in this part of OZ so knitting will now take a back seat while I get on with some sewing along with more house renovations.

not so s-mitten...

Has anyone used Anna Zilboorg's "Magnificent Mittens"? There is a step in her process which is thoroughly trouncing me. It is the method of increases used in shaping the fingertip, namely, "pick up and knit x stitches". It's not a technique limited to her designs, I'm sure, so if anyone has any ideas... help. I'm stuck.

Question for All You Experience Knitters

I am making this sweater, I think already have the answer to my question, but I'll ask you guys just to be sure.
My directions I am following are obviously for an experienced knitter and as this is my first real knitting project so I got lost a few times. I finally finished the body and I am now up to the arms...which the directions convieniently say, "knit untill you reach the desired legnth." So, unless someone invents a device where I can reach inside the mothers womb then I have a bit of a problem. What is a correct proportion, if such a proportion exists, for an arm length in relation to the body?

images/file attachments/ Problems?

I noticed last night it took several attempt to get files attched to my posts; that may have been due to the fact I was working on a dial-up workstation. Anyone else having problems?

The other wierd thing is the new image (without a title so impossible to get to) shown as being posted by me at a time I know I didn't even attempt it.

hmmmmmm.......
